Data masking just got a whole lot more dynamic! With the release of DataMasque 2.24, we're introducing in-flight masking.

Send sensitive data to a new REST API endpoint, and DataMasque will instantly return a masked version according to your defined rules.

Consistent Masking Across All Sources

DataMasque is built on the principle of maintaining consistency and security across all environments. Whether you're working with databases, files, or now in-flight data, you can be assured of reliable, production-realistic data masking. Through hash sources and consistent run secrets, sensitive data is masked identically across all your environments while upholding the highest levels of security.

How In-Flight Masking Works

The in-flight masking API follows the same principles as DataMasque's other masking types. It uses your familiar YAML configuration format, and most of your existing masking definitions can be used as-is. Only database or file-specific masks (like from_column) are unavailable.

Once you upload your ruleset, you receive a dedicated endpoint URL. Send your JSON payloads to this URL, and DataMasque will return the masked data according to your rules.
