Enables Joint Customers to Enhance Data Security With Synthetic Data Capabilities
28 JANUARY 2025—DataMasque, a leading provider of data masking and synthetic data, today announced it has joined Cohesity’s Data Security Alliance. Cohesity, the leader in AI-powered data security, established the Alliance to bring together industry-leading cybersecurity and services companies to create best-in-class joint solutions.
The DataMasque integration with Cohesity DataProtect benefits joint customers by making DataMasque’s data discovery, masking, and synthetic data capabilities readily available in the Cohesity platform, available as a downloadable application in the Cohesity Marketplace.
DataMasque solves the problem faced by many modern companies dealing with large amounts of digital customer data: ‘How do we use that data securely?’ As businesses look to build new products, upgrade their services, or start leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML), many turn to their own customer data in this testing phase, creating an unnecessary vulnerability for cybercriminals to exploit. DataMasque solves this problem by giving businesses a simple way to discover and replace sensitive data with realistic alternatives. With synthetic data substitutions provided for the sensitive data, businesses have the freedom to engineer with synthetically identical data without putting real customer information at risk.
DataMasque works with global enterprise organizations in governed industries such as financial services, government, insurance, and telecommunications. Key DataMasque clients include ADP, Experian, ICICI Lombard, Resolution Life, and Best Western Hotel Group.
DataMasque and Cohesity make it easy for joint customers to start masking and protecting sensitive data. They provide a complete, integrated solution to enable DataOps with efficient backup, near-instant cloning, and secure data masking capabilities. DataMasque is Cohesity’s exclusive masking partner and is natively integrated into the Cohesity solution, meaning customers do not need any additional infrastructure.
“Cohesity is a standout leader in the data security space. We are proud to have worked with their talented team since 2021, providing real value to our global customers,” said Grant de Leeuw, CEO at DataMasque. “We are thrilled to be included in the Data Security Alliance and look forward to collaborating further with Cohesity and the other alliance members to help customers better protect their sensitive data.”
“Enterprises often need to leverage valid, realistic data for testing and development platforms, but at the same time, they cannot compromise access, security, and compliance,” said Joseph Razavian, senior director, Business Development, Cohesity. “By bringing DataMasque’s simple way to irreversibly replace sensitive data with realistic alternatives to data protected by Cohesity, customers gain the ability to accelerate testing and development cycles in a way that is free from privacy concerns or compromise. We welcome DataMasque to our Data Security Alliance, enabling customers to gain additional value from their data securely stored with Cohesity.”
